John B. Baird, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Baird, a partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists, has been in
practice since 1993 as a non-invasive cardiologist. He was born in Illinois
and is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis.
Dr. Baird specializes in nuclear cardiac imaging and echocardiography.
John
K. Boyer, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Boyer joined Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists in 2005 after completing
his training in cardiology at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Boyer has extensive training in echocardiography and is board certified.
Dr. Boyer is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia
College of Medicine and a Missouri native.
David
L. Brown, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Brown, a partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists, has been in
practice since 1993 as an interventional and general cardiologist. He
was born in Nebraska and is a graduate of Creighton University School
of Medicine. Dr. Brown practices at our Columbia office as well as our
Hermann, Macon, and Lake clinics.
James
T. Elliott, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Elliott, a partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists, has been
in practice since 1998 as an invasive/non-interventional cardiologist
with an interest in cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, and nuclear
cardiology. He is a Jefferson City native and a graduate of the University
of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine. Before returning to mid-Missouri,
Dr. Elliott was an assistant professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Emory
University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
James
E.K. Fairlamb, M.D.
Dr.
Fairlamb joined Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists in 2005 after completing
his training in cardiology at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Fairlamb has extensive training in cardiovascular imaging techniques
including cardiac MR and cardiac CT, as well as nuclear imaging including
PET and SPECT MPI.
Jerry
D. Kennett, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.P, F.S.C.A.I.
Dr.
Kennett, a founding member and group president of Missouri Cardiovascular
Specialists, has been in practice since 1979 as an interventional cardiologist.
He is a Callaway County native and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia
School of Medicine. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the American
College of Cardiology and is the current President of the Missouri State
Medical Association. Dr. Kennett was the recipient of the American Heart
Association’s Dr. Hugh Stephenson Award in January 2000.

Dr.
Marquez practices full time in our Sedalia office.
Dan
L. Pierce, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Pierce, a partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists, has been in
practice since 1990 specializing in electrophysiology. He is board certified
in electrophysiology. He is a Missouri native and is a graduate of the
University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine.
Sanjeev
D. Ravipudi, M.D.
Dr.
Ravipudi joined Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists in 2002 after completing
his training in interventional cardiology at the University of Southern
California. He was born in Tennessee and is a graduate of the University
of Missouri – Kansas City.
Anthony
J. Spaedy, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Spaedy, a partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists, has been in
practice since 1993 as an interventional cardiologist. He is a Cooper
County native and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City
School of Medicine.
Trung
H. Tran, M.D. 
Dr. Tran joined Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists in July of 2008
after completing his training in interventional cardiology at Barnes-Jewish
Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his
internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona and his cardiology
fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Tran is board
certified in interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and adult
echocardiography. Dr. Tran enjoys spending time with his wife Nancy
and their three children.
Joshua
D. Valtos , M.D. 
Dr. Valtos graduated from Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta,
GA in 2002 and completed his residency at University of Missouri in
2006. Following his residency, Dr. Valtos did a Cardiology Fellowship
at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Valtos practices full time
in Kirksville at the Missouri Heart Center in Gutenshon Clinic. He,
his wife and two children reside in Kirksville, MO.
William
L. Woods, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Woods, a founding member and partner of Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists,
has been in practice since 1989 as an interventional cardiologist. He
is a native of Columbia and a graduate of Washington University School
of Medicine, St. Louis.

Richard
J. Mellitt, M.D., F.A.C.S, F.A.C.C.
Dr.
Mellitt has been specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery since
1998 and joined Missouri Cardiovascular Specialists in 2000. He is a magna
cum laude graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine and trained
in surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. He previously practiced at
the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, Illinois. He is board certified
by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgery and the American College
of Cardiology.
Eric Thompson, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.C.C., F.C.C.P.
Dr.
Thompson is a graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine
and he trained in general sugery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota
and in thoracic surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. He is certified
by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
He has been practicing adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgery since
1990, when he first came to Columbia. He loves it here so much, he moved
back in 2003.
